My Approach
I am a qualified counsellor and hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Middlesex University, and an Accredited Member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (I.A.C.P). I aim to inspire confidence in my clients to make healthy choices and decisions in their lives. A Person Centered approach is central to my work where I support my clients in finding their own meanings and solutions in an emphatic non-judgmental fashion.
I use an integrative counselling style that brings together different elements of Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mainstream Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Each client is considered as a whole and my approach is tailored to individual needs. Psychodynamic counselling is invaluable in understanding how early experiences might be adversely affecting clients in the present. ACT and mainstream CBT are solution and action focused and are especially useful in helping clients develop coping skills to address problems that are negatively affecting their lives.
